Art Appreciation: Alexandra Dzh for Minted

Finding the right artwork for your space can seem intimidating. There's a persistent myth that quality art is expensive and rare. I'm here to tell you that's simply untrue! And, the internet is your friend when it comes to sourcing perfect prints. Independent artists have more opportunities than ever to market their work at affordable prices. I keep a running list of my favorite resources and I'm sharing them with you! First up is Alexandra Dzh. I think I'm obsessed with this piece called "Flower." I think it would look amazingly dramatic as the only piece on a wall in a large size.

I've picked out a few more of my favorite prints, if I had to narrow it down. Check out the Minted page and tell me which ones you like best!

Color Crush

Want to know your what determines your style? Look around at your favorite items and see the patterns and commonalities. I can pinpoint my current style cravings and color crushes by focusing on both my newest acquisitions and all-time most treasured objects. Right now I clearly have a soft spot for modern florals and bright accents. I love mixing blues and turquoises with oranges, pinks and yellows. Take a glimpse around my home and you'll see an obvious trend.

Here are a few more fun items that incorporate my current favorite colors:

1.Pillow- LEIF; 2.Notepad- Rifle Paper Co.; 3 Print- Britt Bass Turner; 4.Tumbler-Saffron Avenue;   5.Print- Snow & Graham; 6.Phone cover- Caitlin Wilson

Hello Friends!

Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for stopping by.  A little about me...over 5 years ago, I decided I needed a creative outlet for my love of all things interior design. I started a blog called decorativity, and lots of fun things began to happen. I dove headfirst into the supportive community of Atlanta bloggers. I eventually quit my day job and freelanced as a decorator and design writer. I shadowed senior designers and attended seminars, conferences and boot camps. After a few exhausting and exhilarating years where every day looked different, I'm where I am today: a full-time visual merchandiser in the furniture industry and a residential design consultant.

My blog took a backseat as I built my business, but now I'm back and so ready to share all the design goodness I can get my hands on. I'll discuss tips and trends, beautiful things that catch my eye, and backstage secrets from the world of retail buying and merchandising. I also want this space to be a place of encouragement. Chasing our dreams is hard work in any form, and we're all in this together. I'll be exploring life and faith and how vulnerability intersects with our failures and successes. I can't wait for you to join me and share your stories, too.

My passion is finding creative solutions that make your home beautiful and enjoyable. I'm available for everything from complete home makeovers to advising on art selection and furniture placement. I'll shop for a single item, a whole room, or an assortment of pieces. In need of home staging? My styling will unlock your space's full potential and make it camera-worthy. You can work with me in the metro Atlanta area or choose an e-design package. Contact me anytime...I'd love to meet you!
